Ukrainian Air Force Mirage-2000 fighter jet crashes during flight: pilot manages to eject

On the evening of July 22, a Ukrainian military pilot successfully escaped after an equipment failure while performing a flight mission on a Mirage-2000 fighter jet. Thanks to the pilot’s balanced and professional actions, casualties were avoided both in the air and on the ground.

According to the agency, an incident with a Mirage-2000 military fighter occurred in the skies over Ukraine on July 22, 2025. During a combat flight mission, a technical failure of the aviation system occurred.
The pilot promptly reported the malfunction to the flight controller and acted strictly in accordance with the emergency instructions. Having assessed the risks, the pilot decided to eject. Thanks to his cool-headedness, both his own death and possible civilian casualties were avoided.
After landing, the pilot was quickly found by a search and rescue team. Medics report that his condition is stable. There are no injuries on the ground, and the plane wreckage did not cause damage to infrastructure or threaten populated areas.
A special commission has been appointed to investigate the causes of the incident in detail. Experts will check the technical condition of the aircraft, analyze flight data, and all the circumstances surrounding the incident.
