Ukrainian anti-ballistic missile ready: Fire Point announces new deal
Ukrainian company Fire Point has agreed with German radar manufacturer Hensoldt to cooperate on the creation of a new Freya missile defense system. At the same time, the Ukrainian anti-ballistic missile for the future complex is already ready.
This was reported by the company’s representative Denis Shtilerman, reports Militarny.
The parties signed a memorandum of understanding during the Eurosatory-2026 defense exhibition in Paris.
Under the terms of the agreement, Hensoldt will supply radar systems for the new air defense complex. The German company will also be responsible for their production and testing.
Fire Point, in turn, will develop and integrate all other elements of the system – FP-7.x interceptor missiles, launchers and control systems.
In fact, it is about creating a complex that will combine Ukrainian missiles and German radars into a single missile defense system.
According to Stillerman, the anti-ballistic missile for this project is already ready, and cooperation with Hensoldt will be an important step for the development of Ukrainian air defense and missile defense.
The future Freya system should strengthen Ukraine’s capabilities to detect and intercept air targets, including ballistic missiles.
As a reminder, Ukrainian gunsmiths are completing preparations for flight tests of the new FP-9 ballistic missile , capable of hitting strategic targets at long distances. In parallel, work is underway on a new anti-ballistic shield.
By the way, recently the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov announced that the first guided aviation bomb has been created in Ukraine , which has passed tests and is ready for combat use. The development is already being used within the experimental batch and is undergoing combat testing.
