Ukrainian drones hit Kalibr carrier Admiral Makarov and drilling rig
On the night of April 6, unmanned systems forces struck the frigate “Admiral Makarov” in the port of Novorossiysk and also hit the drilling rig “Syvash.”
This was reported by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Magyar” Brody.
According to him, the Admiral Makarov is a carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles. During the attack, the Russian military launched air defense missiles directly from the ship, but this did not prevent the Ukrainian drones from reaching their target.
The operation was carried out by the “Birds” units of the 1st separate center of the Unmanned Systems Forces. The Security Service of Ukraine planned and coordinated the actions.
In addition, fighters of the 413th separate unit “Reid,” together with the Navy’s deep-sea strike forces, struck the floating drilling rig “Syvash.”
Local authorities traditionally announced “drone debris” when commenting on the fire in the area of the Sheskharis port.
The investigation determines the extent of the damage.
It was previously reported that drones attacked the Russian city of Novorossiysk in Krasnodar Krai. The strike caused a fire at the Sheskharis oil terminal.
As a reminder, on the night of April 5, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of facilities of the Russian aggressor, including an oil refinery, a port, and an aircraft equipment warehouse. The attacks resulted in recorded fires at some facilities, and authorities are currently assessing the extent of the damage.
