Ukrainian delegation held a meeting with Erdogan: what was discussed

The Ukrainian delegation, before negotiations with the Russian Federation in Istanbul, met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
This was announced by the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak.
“We coordinated positions before the meeting in Istanbul, which the Ukrainian delegation will hold today with the Russian side. We are also grateful to Turkey for being ready to provide a negotiating platform and facilitate diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace for Ukraine,” Yermak noted.
He also reported that the security situation, challenges to regional stability, as well as prospects for further defense cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey were discussed. The need for a meeting at the level of state leaders – President Volodymyr Zelensky, US and Turkish leaders Donald Trump and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as well as Russian dictator Vladimir Putin – was also emphasized.
The head of the OP noted that such negotiations would be a transition to real negotiations on ending the war.
“We are grateful to Turkey and the Turkish people for their consistent position. We also had a meeting today with Senior Advisor to the President of the Republic of Turkey Akif Çağatay Kilic and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. A constructive conversation. We are grateful for the meeting,” Yermak added.
Earlier it became known that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree approving the composition of the Ukrainian delegation that will participate in the negotiations with Russia . They are to be held in Istanbul and will concern the issues of achieving a “just and sustainable peace.”
Let us recall that even before the talks began, Russia began to effectively block them. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has already stated that “there is no reason to count on any breakthroughs.” He emphasized that Russia “intends to seek to secure its interests and fulfill the tasks set.”
