Ukrainian delegation leaves for the US: main goals of negotiations in Washington

A Ukrainian delegation has traveled to the United States to hold key talks on protecting national interests and speeding up the end of the war. The Foreign Ministry said the mission has clear directives and a decisive diplomatic nature.

As reported by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, the delegation is already heading to the United States of America to participate in a series of negotiations that may determine the further course of the war and the direction of international support.

The delegation included representatives from key government agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the defense sector. All team members received agreed guidelines outlining the main priorities for the negotiations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that Ukraine’s position in the negotiations is as clear as possible and is based on protecting the national interests of the state.

Separately, Andriy Sybiga noted the importance of the role of the United States of America and the participation of the American side in peace initiatives.

“We are grateful to the United States of America, we are grateful to President Trump. The continuation of this track and the involvement of the United States in this peace process are important to us. The most important thing is to seize the moment and accelerate peace efforts,” the Foreign Minister said.

According to him, the goal of the Ukrainian side is to ensure the correct dynamics of the peace processes in order to bring the end of hostilities and the return of normal life to the citizens of Ukraine as close as possible.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the updated composition of the Ukrainian delegation, which will participate in negotiations with the United States, other international partners, and representatives of the Russian Federation on achieving a just and sustainable peace.

It is worth adding that the updated version of the American “peace plan” for Ukraine, reduced from 28 to 19 points, is being kept secret to avoid new leaks in the media.
