Ukrainian delegation to meet with Trump representative to discuss security guarantees

A Ukrainian delegation will arrive in the United States this week and meet with Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff. They will discuss security guarantees for Kyiv.

“The key topic will be security guarantees. From the Ukrainian side, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, will participate in the negotiations,” a source familiar with the plan of the discussions said.

Also on the agenda will be a discussion of the upcoming bilateral meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin.

The publication notes that the Ukrainian team will arrive for the negotiations amid intense discussions on providing security guarantees to Ukraine.

“While Trump insists on a quick agreement between Kyiv and Moscow to end the war, Ukraine’s supporters are focusing on identifying security guarantees they can provide to ensure the implementation of any agreement reached with Putin,” the material says.

As a reminder, following the results of the last meeting , the “Coalition of the Willing” stated that it is ready to deploy support forces in Ukraine after the cessation of hostilities.

By the way, the head of the UK Ministry of Defense, John Healy, during the meeting between the American and Russian leaders, stated that London is ready to send its military to Ukraine .
