Rosneft’s Ryazan oil refinery, one of the largest in Russia, temporarily halted production after a Ukrainian drone attack on November 15.

According to Reuters sources, the plant will remain out of operation until the end of November, and scheduled shipments of petroleum products until December 1 have been canceled. The plant’s main unit, responsible for processing more than 8 million tons of oil per year (approximately 48% of capacity), has been completely shut down due to the fire.

Earlier, on October 24, one of the units had already failed due to a drone attack, reducing the plant’s total capacity by a quarter. Its repair is not yet complete, and the rest of the equipment is also not operating at full capacity.

In addition, from November 15, the plant temporarily suspended the sale of petroleum products on the St. Petersburg International Exchange.

According to the results of 2024, the enterprise processed 13.1 million tons of oil, which is almost 5% of the total volume in Russia, and produced 2.2 million tons of gasoline, 3.4 million tons of diesel fuel, and 4.3 million tons of fuel oil.

As reported, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Ryazan Oil Refinery in Russia, and also hit the Nebo-U radar station, a military echelon, and several areas of concentration of occupier personnel.
