Ukrainian drones attacked three oil depots and a tanker of the Russian “shadow fleet”: consequences of the strikes

Units of the Security Service of Ukraine struck three oil depots in the Stavropol Territory of Russia, as well as a tanker of the Russian “shadow fleet” in the Black Sea. The strikes were aimed at reducing the military-economic potential of the aggressor state.

This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian long-range weapons have achieved the specified goals that provide and finance Russian aggression. According to him, SBU units hit three oil depots in the Stavropol Territory, and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck another fuel facility in the same region. In addition, three Russian tankers were hit in the Black Sea.

“We continue to respond to Russian strikes quite fairly and accurately. Today, Ukrainian long-range sanctions have reached specific objects that provide and finance Russian aggression,” said President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The SBU reported that one of the affected vessels was the tanker “Avero”, which was used to transport Russian crude oil during the oil embargo imposed by the G7 countries and the EU. According to the special service, the ship was transporting oil, in particular, to China and India, and was struck by the SBU’s “Mamai” naval drone.

The special service noted that this is the fourth tanker of the Russian “shadow fleet” that the SBU has hit in the past 10 days. All of these vessels belong to the Suezmax class and are used to transport significant volumes of oil and oil products.

SBU drones also attacked three oil depots in the Stavropol Territory , located approximately 600 kilometers from the state border of Ukraine. According to the special service, the strikes at all three facilities caused large-scale fires, explosions and the ignition of tanks with fuel and lubricants.

The SBU emphasized that such special operations complicate the export of Russian oil, reduce revenues to the Russian budget from the sale of energy resources, and reduce the ability to provide Russian troops with fuel.

Recall that on the night of July 19 , the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of important military and military-economic facilities of Russia.

By the way, on the night of July 19, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces struck 13 power substations in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and four ships of the Russian shadow fleet in the Black Sea.
