Ukrainian film “2000 Meters to Andriyivka” nominated for BAFTA

The Ukrainian film “2000 Meters to Andriyivka” directed by Mstislav Chernov was nominated for a BAFTA award.
The shortlist of nominees was published on the award website .
Chernov’s film will compete for the statuette in the nomination for Best Documentary.
The film tells the story of the small village of Andriivka, located ten kilometers from Bakhmut. Chernov, together with Oleksandr Babenko and soldiers of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, move along the front line and capture on camera the attempts of Ukrainian defenders to de-occupy the settlement.
In addition to the Ukrainian film, this category also included four other films: Apocalypse In The Tropics by Petr Costa, Cover-Up by Laura Poitras and Marc Obenghaus, Mr Nobody Against Putin by Pavel Talankin and David Borenstein, as well as The Perfect Neighbor by Gita Gandbhire and Riefenstah by Andres Weil.
Recall that in 2024 , the Ukrainian film “20 Days in Mariupol” by Mstislav Chernov won the BAFTA Award in the “Best Documentary” category.
