Ukrainian “Golden Dome”: Kyiv created a laser weapon for air defense

Ukraine has created a laser air defense system — it counteracts Russian air targets that attack populated areas.

This is stated in the material of The Atlantic.

It is noted that such weapons are easy to transport, do not make any noise and do not emit light.

The author explains that first the laser rotates while its cameras track the aerial target, and after launch the drone begins to burn.

Currently, Ukraine is striving to create a reliable sky protection system similar to the Golden Dome, but at a much lower cost.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy prioritized the deployment of his own air defense system, as the US and Europe were unable to provide Ukraine with sufficient weapons.

In particular, a 3D-printed interceptor drone, a carbon fiber clone of the best Russian air defense missile, wheeled robots armed with machine gun turrets, and laser systems are currently being created.

Previously, the Unmanned Systems Forces reported that Ukrainian troops are already using laser weapons against the Russians .
