GUR cyber specialists conducted an operation that paralyzed the work of one of the largest Internet providers in Siberia.

This is reported by a number of Ukrainian media outlets, citing their own intelligence sources.

It is noted that as a result of the attack, a closed city specializing in uranium mining was left without communication – Orion Telecom was the only Internet provider there.

As a result of the hacking operation, approximately 370 servers and 500 network switches were disabled. Backups were also erased, which will not allow the provider to quickly restore operations.

A message is circulating on local channels, allegedly from Ukrainian hackers, addressed to the company. It says, in Russian: “Happy holiday, disrespectful Russians, soon you will live in the Stone Age, and we will help you. Glory to Ukraine.”

As a reminder, Ukrainian military intelligence struck a powerful blow against one of Russia’s major defense enterprises – the Tupolev Design Bureau.

As reported, on February 26, the Ukrainian hacker group “VO Team” destroyed the data and servers of a Moscow Internet provider that served the Russian oil industry.
