Ukrainian investigators have identified Russian military personnel and an FSB representative involved in the torture of civilians in the village of Dymer in the Kyiv region during the occupation in 2022.
This is reported by the “Book of Executioners” project.
According to the investigation, the command staff of the 83rd separate airborne assault brigade of the Russian Federation, as well as FSB Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Oleinichuk, played a key role in crimes against civilians, according to law enforcement officials.
“He was directly involved in the so-called ‘filtration’ – interrogations of prisoners, which were accompanied by torture and ill-treatment of civilians,” the report says.
During the occupation, Russian soldiers set up a place of illegal detention on the territory of one of the enterprises in Dymer. Local residents were held there, some of whom were later forcibly deported to Russia.
According to the investigation, at least 42 people were illegally deported. Some of them were returned, but at least 24 civilians still remain in captivity.
Oleinichuk has already been charged with violating the laws and customs of war, which carries a penalty of up to life imprisonment.
In addition, law enforcement officers identified other brigade commanders who organized the actions of the occupation units and may have been involved in war crimes against the civilian population during the occupation of the Kyiv region.
As a reminder, the Security Service of Ukraine reported suspicions to the commander of the Russian artillery brigade over the shelling of residential areas in Pokrovsk.
As reported, the Trostyanets District Court of Sumy Oblast sentenced a Russian soldier who, during the occupation of the village of Boromlya, simulated the execution of a civilian woman, the mother of a Ukrainian soldier.
