Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law that introduces mandatory military training for students of medical institutions of higher education.

The relevant information is posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada in the draft law card.

According to the document, all students of medical and pharmaceutical specialties who have passed professional and psychological selection and are recognized as fit for military service due to their health condition are required to undergo military training under the program for reserve medical service officers.

The procedure for conducting this training should be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers upon submission by the Ministry of Defense.

The training will be carried out in institutions that have a license to provide training in the field of medicine or pharmacy. These include both state and private universities that provide training in medical fields. They will be obliged to ensure the implementation of the new military training program for their students.

In addition, the list of military accounting specialties in which training will take place will be determined by the Ministry of Defense together with other state bodies.

As a reminder, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law on the payment of one-time assistance to relatives of soldiers killed in Russian captivity.

As reported, on July 25, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed laws extending the terms of martial law and general mobilization.
