Foreign Mercenaries From 48 Countries End Up in Ukrainian Captivity

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War have launched an information resource to expose the Russian system of recruiting foreigners for the war against Ukraine.

This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The website stoprussianrecruiters.org will publish information on the scale and schemes of recruitment, the geography of Russian agents’ work, and individuals who act in the interests of the Russian Federation in various countries around the world.

The Foreign Ministry stated that Russia is increasingly actively involving citizens of other countries in the war—labor migrants, the unemployed, and representatives of socially vulnerable groups from countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

To do this, according to the Ukrainian side, they use deception, psychological pressure, and financial manipulation.

The Coordination Headquarters “I Want to Live” project has already identified more than 28,000 foreigners who signed contracts with the Russian Armed Forces. At least 5,149 of them have died.

The Ukrainian side also reported that hundreds of foreigners from over 48 countries are being held captive.

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that the new resource should help warn potential victims of the Russian recruitment system, attract the attention of the international community, and contribute to holding accountable those who send people to fight in the interests of the Kremlin.
