Ukrainian military is having success in Zaporizhia: what is known about the situation near Stepnohirsk

Special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate conducted successful offensive operations on the front in the Zaporizhia region.

This was reported by the press service of military intelligence.

“Special forces of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine have conducted a number of successful offensive operations and continue active combat work in the Stepnohirsk area,” the post says.

Despite difficult logistics and the enemy’s attempts to hold positions through “meat assaults,” Ukrainian fighters managed to regain control of important positions and significantly improve their tactical situation.

During the operation, it was possible to destroy the enemy’s advanced assault groups, eliminate dozens of occupiers, and strike enemy manpower and equipment concentration sites.

As noted, an important component of the mission is establishing fire control over key enemy logistical routes. In particular, strikes on logistics and communication hubs make it impossible for the occupiers to storm a certain section of the front.

“They (the actions of the military — ed.) allowed us to create a stable bridgehead for the further clearing of the settlement and the final defeat of the enemy,” said Viktor Torkotyuk, commander of the “Artan” unit.

According to him, the special operation is still ongoing. He added that the goal of the Ukrainian defense forces is to prevent the occupiers from breaking through to the outskirts of Zaporizhia.

Earlier, Russian troops intensified offensive operations in the south , focusing their efforts on attempts to take control of the city of Stepnohirsk, which is of strategic importance for further attacks on Zaporizhia and its surroundings.

As a reminder, the Orikhiv direction in the Zaporizhia region remains quite active, where the Russian army is trying to break through the Ukrainian defenses .
