Ukrainian Special Operations Forces destroyed Russia’s newest Grad missile ship.
On the morning of October 4, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces successfully attacked the Project 21631 Buyan-M Grad small missile ship in the waters of Lake Onega in the Republic of Karelia, Russia.
The SSO press center reported this.
The attack occurred at 4:31 AM. According to the Special Operations Command, the ship’s starboard propulsion compartment was hit. Further details are being clarified.
The Grad (hull number 575) is one of the newest ships in the Russian Navy, commissioned into the Baltic Fleet on December 29, 2022. Its primary armament is Kalibr-NK cruise missiles. The vessel was en route from the Baltic to the Caspian Sea.
The Special Operations Forces emphasized that they continue to carry out asymmetric and sensitive actions against the enemy in order to weaken its military potential.
As a reminder, Ukrainian drones caused record damage to Russia’s oil refining industry, knocking out nearly 38% of primary oil refining capacity.
