According to the organizers, the main goal of the forum is to popularize Ukrainian traditions and make them closer and more understandable to young people.
“The goal is for us to protect the culture of Ukraine, the traditions of Ukraine, the intangible heritage of Ukraine. That’s why we came up with such a project,” the organizers noted.
During the forum, participants spoke about the role of culture in the formation of national identity, the importance of preserving historical heritage and the development of the modern Ukrainian cultural space.
“It is very important to us that every child does not forget their roots, that every child understands how important the Ukrainian language, Ukrainian traditions, and everything that connects them with their native land are,” the participants of the event emphasized.
Special attention was paid to the works of children and youth. They presented creative projects, research and presentations dedicated to the cultural heritage of their regions. Young researchers talked about folk art, local traditions, history and cultural features of different parts of Ukraine.
A representative of the Small Academy of Sciences of Kyiv said that children are actively researching Ukrainian intangible heritage.
“At the Small Academy of Sciences of Kyiv, children explore our intangible heritage. They study the traditions of their families, the gastronomic features of Ukrainian culture, and present their research to a jury. This is how these roots nourish our essence and our identity,” she said.
The organizers are convinced that such initiatives help young people realize that history is not only the past, but also an important part of one’s own identity, which must be preserved and passed on to future generations.
