The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine recommends that Ukrainian citizens refrain from traveling to Hungary .
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this.
The recommendation was issued following the detention of Sberbank cash collection service employees and vehicles in Hungary.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it is currently impossible to ensure the safety of Ukrainian citizens in this country “given the arbitrary actions of the Hungarian authorities.”
“If possible, we also ask that transit routes other than those through Hungarian territory be prioritized. We also draw the attention of Ukrainian and European businesses to the threat of arbitrary theft of property in Hungary and recommend that they consider these risks in the context of any business activity in this country,” the ministry noted.
As a reminder, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha announced that Hungarian authorities in Budapest detained seven Ukrainian citizens —Sberbank employees—and seized the money they were transporting.
