Ukrainians assessed the effectiveness of Ukrainian presidents – Poroshenko leads
Almost a third of the survey participants were unable to name any president of Ukraine whom they consider the most effective since independence. At the same time, among specific presidents, Petro Poroshenko received the most votes, ahead of Volodymyr Zelensky.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Apostrophe website from August 24 to September 1, 2026. 9,010 readers of the site took part in the vote.
When asked which of Ukraine’s presidents they consider the most effective over the years of independence, 31.87% of participants chose the option “none of them.” This answer received the most votes.
Among specific presidents, Petro Poroshenko took first place – he was elected by 22.7% of participants. Volodymyr Zelensky received 21.34% of the votes. Thus, Poroshenko was ahead of the incumbent president by 1.36 percentage points.
Leonid Kuchma was named the most effective president by 9.61% of survey participants, Viktor Yushchenko by 6.24%.
Another 5.88% of respondents chose the option “difficult to answer.” The lowest result among the presidents was received by Leonid Kravchuk – 2.36%.
