Two Ukrainian citizens, a 32-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, have been detained in the Polish city of Katowice. They are suspected of carrying out tasks for a foreign intelligence service.
This was reported by the representative of the coordinator of special services, Jacek Dobrzynski.
According to him, the Ukrainians were engaged in intelligence activities, in particular, collecting data on Poland’s military potential and installing devices to monitor critical facilities.
The information they received concerned Polish military personnel and critical infrastructure facilities, including transport infrastructure that provides logistical and military support to Ukraine.
The court decided to remand the suspects in custody for three months.
According to tvn24, Dobrzynski noted during a briefing that the detainees had been acting on behalf of foreign intelligence since at least 2023.
“This is a shameful matter,” the speaker emphasized.
As a reminder, the SBU detained two Russian informants who leaked information about the SBU positions near Slavyansk to the occupiers and spied on Ukrainian Armed Forces echelons.
