Ukrainians kidnapped in Wroclaw and held in basement for money
20-year-old Ukrainians were kidnapped in Wroclaw, Poland, and held in a basement, forced to hand over access to bank accounts and seek money from acquaintances. Police have detained four suspects, who are charged with kidnapping, robbery and extortion.
This is reported by RMF24.
According to the investigation, two young Ukrainians were lured separately to different locations in Wrocław under the pretext of “domestic services”. There, attackers were waiting for them, who forced them into a car and took them to the basement of one of the establishments in the city center.
The men were held in the basement, threatened, and subjected to violence. Law enforcement officials said the kidnappers forced them to unlock banking apps and provide access codes, and demanded they contact friends to get more money.
“They tried to extort the maximum possible sums from the victims,” the investigation materials state.
The police established the location of the detention and detained four suspects. Among them are citizens of various countries, aged 25 to 30.
The court has already chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for all, and the investigation is ongoing.
