Given the approach of the main public holidays – Flag Day and Independence Day – Ukrainians are reminded of the need to be on guard: possible missile strikes from Russia remain relevant, although they may be restrained by Putin’s economic concerns.

This assessment was made live by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko.

He emphasized that until the war is over, the threat remains constant: “We need to prepare just like every previous year. The Defense Forces and the Air Force are ready to protect civilians as much as possible.”

Kovalenko assured that in the event of a threat of shelling, notifications will appear in advance both on official channels and in verified unofficial sources.

At the same time, the expert does not rule out an international deterrent factor: Putin may refrain from strikes due to US pressure and the likes of Donald Trump. He believes that the Russian president is in a narrow political “corridor”, where economic exhaustion forces him to avoid risks.

“Putin needs to preserve the economy in order to either renew the aggression later or continue it now. And Donald Trump hates the image of strikes on civilian cities,” Kovalenko added.

As a reminder, a new modification of the Russian V2U drone, which works with artificial intelligence, was spotted on the front. This type of UAV has been massively used in all directions over the past week.

As reported, the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service officially states: currently no direct threats from Belarus have been recorded . However, the situation may become dramatically more complicated in the fall due to the large-scale joint Russian-Belarusian exercises “West-2025”.
