Ukrenergo Board Member Oleksiy Brecht Died of Electric Shock

On Wednesday, January 21, Oleksiy Brechta, a member of the board and former interim chairman of the board of NPC Ukrenergo, died from an electric shock.

This was reported by People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko.

According to him, Brecht was electrocuted at one of the Ukrenergo substations.

The Ministry of Energy confirmed the official’s death.

“The energy industry of Ukraine has suffered an irreparable loss. The life of Oleksiy Brecht, a member of the board of NPC Ukrenergo, has been cut short – a man who devoted more than a quarter of a century to serving the light, having gone a worthy and honest path from an engineer to the head of the system operator,” the press service of the department noted.

As is known, Oleksiy Brecht’s career path began in 1999 with Kyiv PSP. Later, he headed Ukrenergo as acting chairman of the board.
