Although electricity consumption remains within seasonal norms, the load on Ukraine’s power grid is critical due to the consequences of Russian shelling.

Ukrenergo reported this.

On the night of December 11, Russian troops again attacked energy infrastructure facilities in several regions. In the morning, some consumers in the Odesa region remained without power. Power companies are already carrying out emergency restoration work.

“The enemy damaged the equipment, but our specialists are doing everything possible to restore its operation as quickly as possible,” the company noted.

Following eight massive missile and drone attacks across the country since the beginning of the year, the following are still in effect:
• capacity limitation schedules for business and industry;
• hourly power outages for the population.

Ukrenergo notes that exact schedules should be checked on the pages of local regional energy companies, as the situation can change quickly.

As of 9:30 a.m. on December 11, consumption levels were similar to the previous day. On December 10, the peak load traditionally occurred in the morning.

Ukrenergo emphasizes that “economical consumption helps reduce the duration of forced outages.”

Recommendations for the population:

• use powerful electrical appliances after 11 p.m.;

• limit the operation of energy-intensive devices during evening peak hours;

• Monitor operational updates from the distribution system operator.
