Ukrenergo reported power outages in Kyiv and six regions following a massive Russian attack.

On Tuesday, June 2, following a combined Russian attack overnight and early morning, some consumers in Kyiv, Kyiv, Donetsk, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions were left without power.

According to Ukrenergo, missile and drone strikes damaged energy infrastructure facilities. Emergency recovery operations are already underway in the affected areas where security conditions permit.

DTEK noted that the shelling damaged the company’s energy facilities and production site. Approximately 140,000 residents of the Sviatoshynskyi, Obolonskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kyiv were temporarily without power. Power companies have already restored power to 110,000 families and ensured power to critical infrastructure.

At the same time, Ukrenergo recorded an increase in electricity consumption. As of 9:30 AM, it was 8.2% higher than at the same time the previous day. This was due to cloudy weather and precipitation in some regions, which reduced the efficiency of residential solar power plants.

Also on June 1, the evening peak in electricity consumption was 1.6% higher than the same figure for the previous working day.
