Ukrnafta is preparing to switch to mobile filling stations.

Ukrnafta plans to strengthen its readiness to operate in a situation where Russian attacks prevent stationary gas stations from serving customers. The company is preparing to deploy mobile gas stations.

Bohdan Kukura, Chairman of the Board of Ukrnafta, announced this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

According to him, the company already has several small fuel tankers with a capacity of up to 3 cubic meters, which can be used as mobile gas stations. Ukrnafta plans to acquire several more such vehicles to quickly supply consumers with fuel if needed.

Kukura emphasized that, given the security situation and potential risks, the company must be prepared to use mobile refueling units.

At the same time, legislative changes are necessary for such gas stations to operate fully. Currently, mobile fueling units can only be used within the boundaries of an existing gas station and its license, particularly in the event of damage or destruction to a stationary facility.

Ukrnafta specifically highlights safety risks, specifically the presence of a fuel tanker truck in crowded areas.

Another concern is the potential expansion of the illegal fuel market. According to Kukura, the emergence of a large number of unregulated mobile fuel stations could contribute to the development of the underground sector.

“This is a risk, first and foremost, for the consumer, since, if there is a shadow, the quality of the fuel will be in serious question,” the head of Ukrnafta emphasized.
