Starting October 1, Ukrzaliznytsia is changing train traffic in Sumy and Kharkiv regions due to the security situation. Some flights between Kyiv and Sumy will be canceled, and in some areas, passengers will be transferred to buses in case of danger.
This was reported by the Minister of Reconstruction, Infrastructure and Transport of Ukraine Mykola Kalashnyk.
Due to Russian attacks on railway infrastructure, trains No. 66 and No. 776 Kyiv – Sumy, as well as No. 775 and No. 779 Sumy – Kyiv, will not run from October 1.
The route of train No. 144 Sumy – Rakhiv will also change. Now it will depart from Konotop daily. Train No. 143 Rakhiv – Sumy will run only to Konotop.
In addition, a combined “train + bus” service is being launched in certain front-line areas of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. If the train cannot reach or depart from Sumy or Lozova due to the threat, passengers will be transported by buses.
The bus schedule will be coordinated with the train schedule. If one of them is delayed, the other will wait for passengers. The cost of the full ticket will not change.
Suburban trains in the Sumy region will continue to run depending on the security situation. The connection on the restored Lyubotyn – Sumy line remains stable.
According to the schedule, trains No. 6001 Kyrykivka – Sumy run from 05:13 to 07:40, No. 6002 Sumy – Lyubotyn from 08:10 to 12:50, No. 6003 Lyubotyn – Sumy from 12:30 to 17:20 and No. 6004 Sumy – Lyubotyn from 17:35 to 22:14.
Passengers are advised to check the current schedule before traveling, as operational changes are possible due to the security situation.
