Ukrzaliznytsia has blocked hundreds of accounts for mass ticket buying and fraud in the application

Ukrzaliznytsia has suspended the activities of 271 accounts that were used for systematic ticket buying and manipulations in the company’s mobile application.

This was reported by the carrier’s press service.

According to UZ, blocked users used schemes with many linked accounts, purchasing small numbers of tickets to circumvent system restrictions. At the same time, they often held tickets in a “reserve” without payment, trying to wait for more favorable terms.

The automated fraud protection system also detected intense search queries and excessive bookings that were overloading the platform. In some cases, these were bots identified by characteristic patterns.

To combat this abuse, Ukrzaliznytsia has introduced additional security measures, including complex CAPTCHA tests and enhanced user identification. In addition, a system for monitoring abnormal activity has been deployed, which analyzes not only the number of tickets, but also behavior in the application.

The company emphasized that such practices harm ordinary passengers by making access to tickets more difficult, so they plan to continue to actively combat illegal schemes.

As a reminder, in August, Ukrzaliznytsia will continue to operate additional trains on popular routes. Tickets are already available for purchase for most flights.

As reported, Ukrzaliznytsia has scheduled an additional train to Odessa. The train will include compartment cars with seating.
