Ukrzaliznytsia is changing the schedule of over 100 suburban trains: what passengers need to know

Ukrzaliznytsia is changing the train schedule, including suburban trains, across Ukraine starting January 22. The revision of the schedules should reduce delays on congested sections and take into account safety restrictions.

The company noted that the changes are being introduced to minimize delays caused by increased traffic on the Fastivska section, which was affected in December.

Some route adjustments have also been made for safety reasons.

In total, Ukrzaliznytsia has revised over 100 commuter train schedules across Ukraine. This decision should relieve the most intensive sections and reduce delays.

According to the updated schedules, trains will start running on the night of January 21-22, 2026. Detailed schedules of suburban trains can be viewed on the Ukrzaliznytsia website .

Passengers are advised to pay attention to the schedule validity date when selecting a flight, which should be indicated as “valid from 01/22/2026”.

Ukrzaliznytsia warns that before the new schedules come into effect, delays of 1–2 hours are possible, depending on the traffic intensity on the Fastiv section.
