Ukrzaliznytsia has opened ticket sales for the new international train Kyiv-Bucharest, which will start operating on October 10. The new route aims to strengthen Ukraine’s transport integration with the countries of the European Union.
This was reported by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
The daily connection between Ukraine and Romania will run along the following route: Kyiv – Vinnytsia – Zhmerynka – Mohyliv-Podilskyi – Velchynets – Ungheni – Iasi – Bucharest.
According to the schedule, the departure from Kyiv will take place at 06:30 in the morning, and the arrival in the Romanian capital will be at 06:47 the next day. In the return direction, the train will depart from Bucharest at 19:10 and arrive in Kyiv at 19:41 the next day.
The train will arrive at the central station of the Romanian capital, Gara de Nord, from where high-speed trains run regularly to the international airport.
The cost of a ticket in a compartment car is about 3800 hryvnias . Passengers can already purchase tickets through the official application or the Ukrzaliznytsia website.
The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development noted that the launch of this route is another step towards expanding Ukraine’s transport connections with the EU and strengthening logistical cooperation with Romania.
The new train will allow Ukrainians to travel to European countries faster and more conveniently, and will also open up additional opportunities for tourist and business exchange.
Recall that Ukrzaliznytsia announced the launch of five additional trains that will run to various regions of Ukraine in the fall . The new schedule should facilitate travel during peak dates and provide more opportunities for passengers planning trips to the West and East of the country.
The day before, it was reported that in the context of strengthening bilateral cooperation , Ukraine and Romania launched a test railway connection between Kyiv and Bucharest . The first cars have already set off on a journey via Chisinau, which was an important step in expanding transport, economic and defense cooperation between the countries.
