UN loses part of humanitarian supplies in Dnipro due to Russian strike

A massive fire has broken out at a food warehouse of the UN World Food Program in Dnipro. The fire broke out after another Russian attack on the city.

This is reported by “Suspilne” with reference to the police and the regional State Emergency Service.

Rescuers and law enforcement officials confirmed that a warehouse where humanitarian food was stored was on fire. WFP officials said the flames destroyed at least 10,000 food packages that were to be sent to civilians near the front line. Other products that had not yet been packaged were also damaged.

The program emphasized that they are continuing to assess the extent of the losses. According to them, no one was injured, but over the past year and a half, the Russians have hit warehouses and vehicles of the World Food Program and partner organizations more than 60 times. They emphasized that strikes on civilian infrastructure are prohibited by international humanitarian law.

Despite the fire, WFP assured that the November food kits have already been delivered to partners’ warehouses, so the distribution of food aid will continue without changes.

As previously reported, on November 17, Dnipro experienced a massive attack by “shaheeds.” One of the strikes damaged the building of the regional editorial office of the Public and Ukrainian Radio Dnipro .

Recall that on the night of November 19, Russia carried out a large-scale strike on Ukraine, using more than 470 drones and 48 missiles of various types, including ballistic and cruise missiles.
