Unidentified drones over Europe: flights near military bases and airports recorded in five countries at once

Flights of unidentified drones have been recorded in Denmark, Sweden, Lithuania, Norway, and Finland, some of which flew near military facilities and strategic infrastructure.
This was reported by local media and representatives of law enforcement agencies of these countries.
In particular, the Swedish broadcaster SVT reported that on the night of September 26, local residents noticed two drones with red and green lights over the Karlskrona archipelago. The incident area is located a few kilometers from the Swedish Naval Base.
Police have confirmed the overflight, but the identities of the drone operators have not yet been established. Police suggest that these cases may be linked to similar incidents in Denmark and Norway.
In Lithuania, the Security Service reported three drone flights near Vilnius Airport on September 26. This caused four flights to depart with delays and three more to land later than scheduled.
In Denmark, flights of unknown drones were recorded on the night of September 27. According to the Danish broadcaster DR , two drones flew near the fence and even over the territory of the main air base of the Royal Air Force – Karup. Representatives of the country’s Ministry of Defense confirmed the incidents and announced the involvement of “protective measures”, but did not disclose details.
In addition, in Finland, an unidentified drone was spotted over the Valayaskoski power plant near the city of Rovaniemi. As law enforcement officials noted, drone flights over energy facilities in the country have been prohibited since August 2025.
Similar incidents are being investigated in Norway, where drones were spotted near the F-35 fighter base in Erlann. The Danish government has already called the situation a “hybrid attack”, while in Germany, drones are being investigated over the land of Schleswig-Holstein on suspicion of espionage or sabotage.
By the way, on Friday, September 26, several unidentified drones were spotted over the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany . Schleswig-Holstein borders Denmark, where drones have been spotted three times this week. Local authorities have launched an official investigation into the incident.
It should be noted that earlier, operations at Aalborg Airport in North Jutland were temporarily suspended after unidentified drones appeared in its airspace.
On the night of September 23 , Gardermoen International Airport in the capital of Norway was forced to temporarily suspend operations after unidentified drones were spotted in the airspace above the airport.
