On the night of Tuesday, March 31, drones attacked Russian targets on the Baltic coast. Several drones went off course and flew into Estonian airspace.
This was announced by Colonel of the Estonian Defense Forces Uku Arold, ERR reports.
According to him, they were detected by radars and fighter jets, but were not shot down.
It should be noted that in the Leningrad region of the Russian Federation, which borders Estonia, intense fighting has been ongoing for the ninth day in a row.
“Ukraine is striking at Russia’s military infrastructure and the infrastructure that ensures the conduct of war, and Russia is trying to repel these attacks, in particular by knocking Ukrainian drones off course using various means. With a high probability, tonight we were dealing with Ukrainian drones that were knocked off course,” said Arold.
Meanwhile, police confirmed that debris from a crashed drone was found in one area of the country. Information about other crash sites is still being verified.
An airstrike was declared in most regions of Estonia on Tuesday night. According to Arold, several objects were spotted in the sky that were constantly changing location.
“Firstly, several different objects moved and appeared in different places in Estonia. Various aerial objects do not stay in one place, they move from one place to another. There were more such cases than these three alerts, but I cannot name the exact number, since the official situation in the airspace is not open information,” he added.
Recall that on the night of Wednesday, March 25, drones from Russia flew into the airspace of the Baltic countries . One of them crashed into the chimney of a power plant in Estonia, and another exploded in Latvia – the wreckage of the drone was found on the ground.
