The Ukrainian Blade interceptor drone has been codified by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. This opens the possibility of its purchase for the needs of the Defense Forces.
This was reported by the Ukrainian company Phantom Defense.
“Blade codification is a critical milestone that moves the system from development and testing to readiness for delivery to the Defense Forces,” Phantom Defense noted.
Blade is designed to intercept aircraft-type drones. It can reach speeds of up to 310 km/h, operate at a range of up to 30 km, and carry a payload of up to 0.5 kg.
The interceptor is equipped with a vertical take-off and landing system, so it does not require a specially equipped runway for launch. A day camera and thermal imager allow it to work with air targets around the clock.
The complex includes a ground control station that provides video and telemetry transmission and allows the operator to control the flight. The operator’s workplace is designed in the format of a portable case that can operate autonomously for at least four hours.
Blade is part of the Phantom Defense comprehensive counter-drone system, which combines detection, electronic warfare, kinetic interceptors, and a situational awareness and combat management platform.
The company announced that the Blade will soon be available for order on the Brave1 Market platform.
As reported, Skyeton has introduced a new Stormbird strike unmanned aerial vehicle, based on the Raybird reconnaissance UAV . The platform is designed for high-precision strikes on enemy targets and is already being used by the Ukrainian military.
