On Wednesday, March 11, a bilateral meeting of delegations from the Russian Federation and the United States was held in Florida.
This was stated by the special representative of the US President, Steve Witkoff.
The American delegation was also represented by US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and White House senior advisor Josh Gruenbaum.
“Today in Florida, a Russian delegation led by Special Representative Kirill Dmitriev met with a US delegation, which included Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and White House Senior Advisor Josh Gruenbaum,” the special envoy’s post reads.
The Russian side was represented by Vladimir Putin’s special representative, Kirill Dmitriev.
“The teams discussed various topics and agreed to stay in touch,” Witkoff said.
He did not disclose the details of the negotiations. At the same time, Dmitriev reposted his message and thanked him “for a fruitful meeting.”
The previous similar meeting of the parties took place in Florida at the end of January.
As a reminder, US President’s special representative Steve Witkoff stated that new progress may appear in the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in the near future.
As reported, analysts at the Institute for the Study of War said that Russia could use the conflict in the Middle East to discredit peace talks on Ukraine. In their opinion, the Kremlin may be trying to shift responsibility for the possible failure of the talks to the United States.
