US and Ukraine agree on updated peace framework document in Geneva: details

A meeting of the US and Ukrainian delegations took place in Geneva, during which the parties discussed the updated American peace proposal. The negotiations showed significant progress and agreement on positions on further steps.

Negotiations between delegations from the United States and Ukraine were held in Geneva on November 23. The parties discussed the key provisions of the American peace proposal and outlined the next stages of work on a joint document.

The statement noted that the consultations were constructive and focused. The participants emphasized their shared commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace, and reaffirmed their mutual respect in the negotiation process.

“The talks were constructive, focused, and full of mutual respect,” representatives of both sides noted.

The meeting resulted in an updated framework document that reflects progress in bringing the parties’ positions closer together. The delegations agreed on the need for further work to agree on proposals that would guarantee Ukraine’s sovereignty and ensure lasting peace.

The Ukrainian side separately thanked the United States and President Donald J. Trump for their support and efforts aimed at ending the war.

“The Ukrainian delegation once again expressed its gratitude to the United States and, in particular, to President Donald J. Trump personally for his unwavering commitment and tireless efforts,” the meeting participants emphasized.

In the coming days, the parties will continue intensive work on joint proposals. Further coordination with European partners is also planned.

Final decisions on the framework document will be made by the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States. The delegations reaffirmed their readiness to continue working closely to achieve a lasting peace that will ensure Ukraine’s security, stability, and recovery.

The day before, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in Geneva that the deadline set by President Donald Trump for Ukraine to adopt a peace plan could change. The talks discussed the progress of the 28-point peace plan and further steps to involve Russia .

The day before, it became known that the first session of negotiations between the Ukrainian and American delegations ended in Geneva , during which the parties noted progress in working on joint peace proposals. Representatives of Ukraine and the United States stated that the process will continue and be supplemented with new agreed provisions.

By the way, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council and member of the Ukrainian delegation at the peace talks Rustem Umerov stated that the agreement on the peace document with the United States is in the final stage . According to him, the document already contains the main Ukrainian priorities.

Earlier, key provisions of the draft US “peace plan” , allegedly agreed upon by representatives of Donald Trump and the Kremlin, became known. The document contains 28 points relating to the security, territories, economy and political future of Ukraine.

Subsequently, the full text of the European counter-draft to the American 28-point peace plan for Ukraine was published in Brussels . The document was prepared by the United Kingdom, France and Germany, proposing changes to each point of the basic plan.
