US declares naval blockade of Iran after new series of strikes

On the night of July 15, the US launched a new series of strikes on Iranian military facilities and announced the resumption of a naval blockade of ships heading to or leaving Iranian ports.
This was reported by the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
The command said that the naval blockade was resumed at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time (11:00 p.m. Kyiv time). According to the American side, more than 20 U.S. Navy ships and hundreds of military aircraft are currently in the Middle East region.
“Currently, more than 20 U.S. Navy ships and hundreds of military aircraft are operating in the Middle East region. American forces remain alert… and ready to act,” CENTCOM said.
The US military later announced the completion of the seven-hour operation, which it said hit dozens of military targets near the Strait of Hormuz and in coastal areas of Iran.
The Iranian side has not yet released information about possible losses or the scale of destruction.
As a reminder,the United States has resumed strikes on Iran and announced a new military operation aimed at limiting Tehran’s ability to threaten shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Amid the escalation of the conflict, world oil prices have risen again.
