US expects Iran war to end in a few weeks – Rubio
Марко Рубіо
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the active phase of the war in Iran could end in the coming weeks.
This is reported by Sky News.
He made the statement after a meeting of G7 foreign ministers in France on March 27.
According to Rubio, the United States is already close to achieving its goals and is counting on a short-term end to the conflict.
At the same time, he called Iran’s possible attempt to introduce permanent fees for vessels in the Strait of Hormuz unacceptable.
Commenting on the situation at the front, the Secretary of State noted that the available forces are capable of performing all necessary tasks.
“We will provide the president with maximum freedom of action in the event of unforeseen circumstances,” he emphasized.
The G7 allies are currently discussing further steps to stabilize the region and ensure the security of strategic sea lanes.
It was previously reported that Iranian forces attacked a Thai container ship in the Strait of Hormuz, causing damage to the cargo and smoke on board.
Recall, Iran rejected a United States proposal with potential conditions to end the war in the Middle East.
