The United States has extended a state of emergency that restricts the entry and parking of ships affiliated with Russia in American ports for another year.

The White House announced this through a publication in the Federal Register.

This is a regime that was introduced back in 2022. It gives American authorities the right to control the movement of vessels that may be linked to Russia and restrict their access to ports.

Washington explains that the reasons for this decision remain valid. They believe that the actions of the Russian authorities continue to pose risks to US international relations.

Thus, restrictions on Russian shipping in American ports will remain in place for at least another year.

Recall that earlier the US lifted sanctions against three Russian vessels.

As reported, Russian shadow fleet vessels use Starlink satellite terminals to coordinate oil shipments and circumvent international sanctions.
