The US House of Representatives has approved Donald Trump’s sweeping “big and beautiful” bill, which combines deep tax cuts with sharp reductions in government spending — marking a major political win for the president and sparking fierce debate over its long-term impact.

This was reported in The New York Times.

Trump’s bill passed by a majority vote, with 217 Republican congressmen voting in favor.

All Democratic congressmen voted against it — 212 in total.

“A bill extending tax breaks and cutting Social Security benefits will be sent to President Trump for his signature,” The New York Times notes.

However, the vote was not without surprises: two members of Trump’s party — Congressman Thomas Massie and Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, who was reportedly frustrated by the suspension of aid to Ukraine — voted against the bill.

This highlights deep divisions within the Republican Party.

Earlier, it became known that the US Senate passed a “big and wonderful” bill proposed by President Donald Trump, which cuts taxes and spending.

By the way, Elon Musk has promised to create a new political party in the US if the Senate passes Trump’s tax and spending bill.

It is worth noting that the Democratic leader in the US House of Representatives, Hakeem Jeffries, broke the record for the longest speech , before voting on Trump’s “great and beautiful” bill.
