US-Iran Tensions Ease as Naval Blockade Comes to an End
The United States has officially ended its naval blockade of Iranian ports and coastal areas, implementing an order issued by President Donald Trump as part of a broader agreement aimed at de-escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran. The move is expected to restore commercial shipping routes, ease pressure on global energy markets, and open the door to further negotiations between the two countries.
This was reported by the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
CENTCOM said that the US military is no longer obstructing the movement of civilian and cargo vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports through the Arabian and Omani Gulfs.
The US also stopped all military measures related to ensuring the naval blockade.
At the same time, American warships will remain in the region. CENTCOM noted that they will continue to monitor the situation and the implementation of all the terms of the agreement reached.
Earlier, “Pryamy” reported that the United States and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding, which is intended to serve as the basis for further negotiations between the countries. The document outlines key principles of cooperation, including issues related to the nuclear program, sanctions, and regional security.
US President Donald Trump also announced that a peace agreement had been reached between the United States and Iran. According to him, the agreement includes the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the lifting of the US Navy’s naval blockade.
