US President Trump has arrived in China: what will the leaders talk about?

On Wednesday, May 13, US President Donald Trump arrived in China for a two-day visit, during which talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping are scheduled.

Along with the US president, the heads of the largest American companies, including Elon Musk and Tim Cook, flew to Beijing.
Trade and economic cooperation between the countries are expected to be key topics of the meeting. Analysts do not predict significant breakthroughs, but they allow for the continuation of the trade truce previously reached between Washington and Beijing.
“We expect a constructive dialogue,” Donald Trump said before the start of the visit.
The parties may also discuss expanding economic deals. In particular, it is about possible large purchases by China of American agricultural products – beef, poultry and soybeans. In addition, a potential agreement to supply about 500 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft is being discussed.
At the same time, China may raise the issue of easing American restrictions on the export of semiconductors and equipment for their production.
Separately, the leaders plan to touch on the international security situation, in particular the war in the Middle East.
The last time a US president made a similar visit to China was in 2017.
