US pushes for new agreements with Iran – media

The United States has handed over a new draft peace agreement to Iran through a Pakistani mediator. Tehran is currently working on the document and has not yet provided an official response.

According to media reports, three days ago, Iran submitted its own version of the document, which consists of 14 points, to the American side. In response, Washington sent a new draft through an intermediary from Pakistan.

In Tehran, the Pakistani representative is working to bring the parties’ positions closer together and agree on possible wording for future agreements.

At the same time, the parties have not yet reached any final decisions.

According to Axios, US President Donald Trump discussed the prospects for a new deal with Iran during a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to the publication’s sources, Trump said that mediators are working on a so-called “letter of intent” that the United States and Iran could sign.

The document would officially record the end of the conflict phase and open a 30-day window for further negotiations.

At the same time, Axios notes that Netanyahu is skeptical of the negotiation process and supports the idea of continuing pressure on Iran to weaken its military potential.

According to sources, after speaking with Trump, the Israeli prime minister remained concerned about the progress of the negotiations.

Trump himself said that Netanyahu would “support Washington’s position” on Iran and emphasized the good working relationship between them.

It should be noted that Iran has officially released its conditions for concluding a peace agreement with the US . The list of demands covers issues of sanctions, military presence, and compensation.

It was previously reported that the US and Iran may soon agree on a basic agreement that should stop tensions in the region and pave the way for full-fledged negotiations on the nuclear program.

Recall, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the completion of the military operation against Iran called Epic Fury, which had been ongoing since February.
