US ready to provide security guarantees to Ukraine, but not in NATO format – Trump

The United States is ready to provide Ukraine with security guarantees together with its European partners. However, this is definitely not about Ukraine joining the North Atlantic Alliance.

US President Donald Trump stated this while talking to reporters.

Journalists asked Trump if it was possible for the United States to provide security guarantees to Ukraine. He replied that it was indeed possible, together with Europe and other countries, but not in the form of NATO.

“There are certain things that won’t happen. But yes, together with Europe, it is possible,” the US president noted.

Earlier, Donald Trump expressed his willingness to provide Ukraine with security guarantees, but on one condition – they must be outside the North Atlantic Alliance .

By the way, US Senator Lindsey Graham said that Russia and Ukraine should exchange territories to end the war. However, Ukraine should receive security guarantees .
