US Senate votes to lift global tariffs for some allies: who does this affect?

On Thursday, October 30, the US Senate voted to repeal the global tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump.

This was reported in The Hill.

The vote came after decisions were made earlier in the week to eliminate tariffs in Canada and Brazil.

In particular, four Republican senators voted with Democrats to approve a bipartisan resolution that would allow the European Union, Japan, and South Korea to avoid high tariffs.

Trump also previously announced a 10-point reduction in tariffs on China, which he said was helped by a “really good” meeting in South Korea.

Recall that earlier the US federal court for international trade ruled to block the entry into force of global import tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump , stating that the head of state had exceeded his authority.
