US senators have agreed with the White House on a bill on “hellish sanctions” against Russia.

A group of US senators announced that they had agreed with the Donald Trump administration on a bill for “hellish sanctions” against Russia.

The document empowers the US president to impose 500% tariffs on imports from countries that continue to purchase Russian oil, gas, and uranium, as well as to impose secondary sanctions on companies and states that help Moscow circumvent existing restrictions.

“We are proud to announce that we have reached an agreement with the Trump administration to advance updated sanctions legislation against Russia. We are very pleased with this significant progress,” the senators said in a joint statement.

It’s worth noting that this bill, co-sponsored by Senator Lindsey Graham, has been pending since April of last year.
