The US Department of Defense has informed Switzerland of a delay in the delivery of Patriot air defense systems, as they will be sent to Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Swiss Ministry of Defense.

It is known that Switzerland ordered five Patriot air defense systems from the United States back in 2022. Deliveries were to begin in 2027 and be completed in 2028.

However, the Pentagon said that Switzerland is one of the countries that “suffer from the new priority.”

“It is currently unknown how many systems this will affect or whether it will also affect the supply of guided missiles. No statements can be made at this time regarding the exact timing and further consequences for Switzerland. The investigation is ongoing,” the Swiss Ministry of Defense reported.

Recall, US President Donald Trump announced that the first batches of Patriot anti-aircraft systems have already been sent to partner countries, which will later transfer them to Ukraine.

As reported, US President Donald Trump’s statement regarding the start of the shipment of Patriot systems from Germany to Ukraine was not confirmed in Berlin.
