Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga said that the United States will sign the 20-point peace agreement separately with Ukraine and Russia.

He said this in an interview with “European Truth”.

“If we talk purely about this 20-point framework, then this is currently a bilateral document that will be signed by the US and Ukraine. And with Russia, the US should sign it,” the minister said.

He emphasized that this is the construction currently being considered, but the negotiation process is still ongoing, so there may probably be some changes.

According to him, Europe is present in the peace process and agreements on security guarantees.

“By the way, it is important that for the first time we are talking about the term “security guarantees”, and not “assurances” or something similar. It is also fundamentally important that fundamental things that are of decisive importance for Ukraine and for our security have a legally binding nature. Therefore, it is important that there is agreement on the need to ratify the guarantees – in particular, their ratification by the US Congress,” explained Sibiga.

The minister added that there is another important element. It is about the deployment of a foreign contingent in Ukraine, however, there will be no US troops.

Recall, US President Donald Trump said that the end of the war in Ukraine started by Russia is supposedly approaching .

It was previously reported that security guarantees from the United States for Ukraine may depend on Kyiv’s readiness to withdraw troops from the unoccupied areas of Donbas. However, the US administration later denied this information .
