The main goal of the United States regarding Iran is to prevent the country from acquiring nuclear weapons.
This was stated by US Vice President J.D. Vance, Fox News reports.
“The president doesn’t just want to protect the country from Iranian nuclear weapons for the first three or four years of his second term – he wants to make sure that Iran can never have nuclear weapons, and that requires a fundamental change in the mindset of the Iranian regime,” Vance explained.
He also emphasized that Iranian nuclear facilities were created not only for peaceful uranium enrichment, as the authorities in Tehran claim, but also for the purpose of developing nuclear weapons.
At the same time, the vice president emphasized that there is no talk of a long-term military operation: “Trump will not allow the country to get involved in a multi-year conflict… we are not going to get involved in the problems that we had with Iraq and Afghanistan,” he added.
Recall, on February 28, US President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States had launched a military campaign in Iran.
As reported, Iran’s ambassador to the UN nuclear organization stated that a nuclear facility was hit during a military operation by the US and Israel.
By the way, European countries are discussing the creation of their own nuclear deterrent during security talks in Munich due to the decline in confidence in Donald Trump’s policy regarding the security of allies . The discussion involves the possible strengthening of European defense potential in parallel with the US deterrent system.
