US President Donald Trump has floated the idea of a global redistribution of spheres of influence between the US, China and Russia, changing the traditional American policy of containment. This includes a softer policy towards Beijing and possible recognition of Russia’s territorial gains in Ukraine.
This is reported by Axios .
According to journalists, Trump is increasingly moving away from a confrontational line towards China. He refuses to impose sanctions in response to cyberattacks and lifts restrictions on the export of high-tech Nvidia H200 chips to China.
“We see the US desire to ensure strategic stability without blocking the development of technology in China,” the analysts noted.
In his policy towards Russia, Trump is also moving towards finding agreements. According to the publication, his team is pressuring Kyiv to hand over Donbas to Moscow in order to restore strategic stability in US-Russian relations.
In addition, Trump insists on Russia’s return to the G7 format, from which it was excluded after the occupation of Crimea in 2014. The new US National Security Strategy appears softer towards Russia than towards its European partners.
“In my vision of world politics, the key is the division of spheres of influence to avoid direct conflicts and maintain the balance of power,” said Donald Trump.
The publication’s analysts note that for the United States, this means strengthening control over the Western Hemisphere, countering Venezuela, and a clear warning to China and Russia not to interfere in US regional affairs.
By the way, Russia and China are actively taking advantage of Donald Trump’s desire to make quick deals and are trying to weaken American alliances in Europe and Asia.
It was previously reported that China has begun forming its own “shadow fleet” of gas tankers , which will allow the country to import Russian liquefied gas, which is under US sanctions.
Recall that the United States and China have agreed to establish direct military communication between the armed forces of both countries to avoid misunderstandings and potential conflicts.
